Brent H. Shanks

Brent Shanks has served as CBiRC’s director since the center’s establishment in 2008. He is also a member of the Iowa State University College of Engineering faculty, holding the title of Anson Marston Distinguished Professor in Engineering and Mike and Jean Steffenson Chair in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Biography

Dr. Shanks received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (1985) and his M.S. in Chemical Engineering (1983) from the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Shanks also worked for the Shell Chemicals Company (1997-1999) as a Department Manager and Research Engineer.
