CBiRC’s administrative headquarters are located in the Biorenewables Research Laboratory on the campus of Iowa State University. To achieve the Center’s vision, CBiRC has assembled a group of NSF-funded research faculty who are internationally recognized leaders in their respective fields. Thus CBiRC as a whole is a partnership between eight U.S. and four foreign institutions. Iowa State University serves as the lead institution. Core partner institutions include the University of California–Irvine, University of New Mexico, Penn State University, Rice University, University of Virginia, and University of Wisconsin–Madison. Institutions contributing affiliated faculty include the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and the University of Michigan. CBiRC’s foreign partner institutions include the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Berlin; Technical University of Denmark; Abo Akademi University, Finland; and Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands.
