International Program

The CBiRC international education program will build from a recently awarded NSF PIRE entitled “Conversion of Biomass and Renewable Feedstock into Energy, Chemicals and Materials” that further demonstrates the high level of ongoing collaboration among CBiRC faculty. This effort, which includes a subset of Thrust 3 investigators (Datye, Davis, Dumesic, Neurock, B. Shanks), creates an international partnership with the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Berlin and the Technical University of Denmark. These PIRE activities will be incorporated into the CBiRC slate of activities. Initially to be focused on chemical catalysis, the international partnership will eventually expand to include biocatalysis and will impact students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
